Social Services Conference Set
Aging and Adult Service’s annual conference this month will explore how social services can change to satisfy the area’s diversifying population.
Two days of workshops will cover cultural diversity, estate planning, guardianship, aging, assistive technology, Alzheimer’s disease, mental health issues and other topics.
Speakers include John Nugent, director of Planned Parenthood in Spokane; Edwin Hutchinson, founder of the AMEND Center in Coeur d’Alene; attorney Alan Wasserman; nurse Carla Gentry, and pharmacist Don Smith.
The Diversity in the New Age conference will run March 29 and 30 in North Idaho College’s Edminster Student Union. Registration is $50 if sent by March 10. Continuing education credit is available. For information, call 800-786-5536.
