Notes

Changes: The division concept is gone, with all 11 teams lumped together. The top-four meet is for the title, based on fewest losses. It could be difficult with some teams having eight league meets and others seven.

Today’s openers: EV at Ferris; NC, Mt. Spokane at CV; Rogers, Shadle Park at U-Hi; Mead, LC vs. G-Prep at Spokane Community College.

Miscellany: The District 8 meet will be held at CV and the Eastern Regional at a Big Nine site with State on Memorial Day weekend in Tacoma… . The Pasco Invitational is set for April 15, the Mooberry Relays (Rogers) on April 22 and the Strandberg Invitational (CV) May 6… . The girls pole vault will become an official event at state after two years as an exhibition event. That gives girls 18 events to 17 for boys. There is a debate to drop a girls event (800 relay) or add one for boys (800 or distance medley).
