Two New Fire Stations Getting Voter Approval
Voters here were favoring a $2 million bond levy for two new fire stations late Tuesday.
If approved, the bond will be paid back in 10 years.
In early returns, 1,529 voters favored the measure, while 615 had voted against it.
The Post Falls Fire District already owns the properties for the proposed stations, 16th Avenue and state Highway 41, and Pleasant View Road and Seltice Way.
Both sites were donated to the district.
Costs for the bond will be based on the taxable valuation of each property, or about 26 cents per $1,000 of taxable market value.
