Spokane Students To Hold Parade
Students are taking it to the streets yet again with Lewis and Clark High School’s second student parade through downtown this school year.
All 1,550 of LC’s students will walk en masse from the school’s temporary downtown location at 157 S. Howard, to Riverfront Park at 11:30 a.m. Friday. The school’s marching band and cheer squad plan to lead the way.
LC moved to the recently renovated Holley-Mason Building at 157 S. Howard last September to accommodate a two-year, $40 million renovation project to LC’s main school at Fourth and Stevens. School officials have had to deal with student safety concerns, preservation issues and the challenge of relocating to a smaller facility.
Traffic will be blocked along Howard during the parade, 11:30 a.m to noon. Streets affected will include First, Sprague, Riverside, Main and Spokane Falls Boulevard.
