Who Will Throw First Stone Over Endorsement Mix-Up?
I ‘m amused by the fuss Hayden Lake Country Club Republicans are making over that last-minute primary flyer. You know, the one circulated by scorched-earth R’s that claimed - falsely - that the local Central Committee backed a slate of Christian conservatives. In 1994, the moderate wing was the culprit in sending out a last-minute flyer that slimed Democrat Mike Anderson and Independent Tom Daugherty. He should put Wells on his Christmas-card list … The Bonner County Courthouse underground has this comment about Tuesday primary results: “Happy days are here again, the skies are bright and clear again” … French Fries on the Side (or, “Why I’m Worried that Butch Could Embarrass Us”): 1. Tight-fittin’ jeans, 2. DUI, 3. EPA troubles, 4. Not only no, but hell no, 5. He’s single again.
Justice-elect Eismann has skeleton in closet
Don’t look now, Mr. & Mrs. Christian Conservative, but Boise columnist Dan Popkey reports that Supreme Court Justice-elect Dan Eismann was a Planned Parenthood counselor before he became a right-winger. Yeah, it was B.C. But still … “I lost to Gordon Crow and Phil Batt and to a whole bunch of money from Boise. I wished the conservatives had turned out en masse but they did not” - District 3 wannabe Curtis Ellis in defeat … This edition of Hot Potatoes was brought to you by the number 85. Or, the percentage of voters who marked Republican ballots in the Kootenai and Bonner County primary races. Or, there’s a lot of Democrats out there who are having trouble looking themselves in the mirror this morning.
