Just ask the Colville Indians.
Dane Bassett caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Eric Rice with 33 seconds remaining for the Indians, but a botched snap on the extra point sent the game into overtime.
Matt Risley dove in from 3-yards out and scored the two-point conversion as the West Valley Eagles downed the visiting Indians 30-29 in a Border League football game Friday night.
In overtime, West Valley lined up to kick the extra point that would have sent the game into a second overtime, but an offside penalty convinced the Eagles to go for two.
Risley was the only running back to carry the ball for the Eagles (2-3, 2-3), who have won two straight games. Risley ran for 158 yards on 27 carries.
Tyler Baker was 14 of 24 passing for 208 yards for the Eagles with two touchdown passes, and Craig McIntyre caught six passes for 152 yards and a score.
Chris Lowry had 129 yards on 28 carries for Colville (0-5, 0-5).
In other games, Adam Pegg rushed for 178 yards on 18 carries as the Cheney Blackhawks (3-1, 4-1) blasted the visiting Post Falls Trojans 36-7. Post Falls fell to 1-5, 1-4. . . . Matt Gower rushed for 189 yards on 25 carries as the Lewiston Bengals (3-3) downed the visiting Sandpoint Bulldogs 41-28 in a non-league game. J.C. DeVault rushed for 132 yards on 21 carries for Sandpoint (4-2)… . Doug Blaty rushed for 117 yards on 16 carries as the Lake City Timberwolves (5-1, 5-1) downed the host Moscow Bears 40-21… . Paul Ziegler piled up 155 yards on 29 carries as the Coeur d’Alene Vikings (5-1, 4-1) downed the Clarkston Bantams 47-14.
