Prosecutor Prefers Orange For Hunters
Kootenai County Prosecutor Bill Douglas said he plans to ask the Legislature to create a law that would require all Idaho hunters to wear orange.
Douglas said he is asking for the same legislation that was submitted in 1987, but failed.
Douglas said statistics show that in nearly all fatal hunting accidents, the victim was not wearing orange.
Less than a year ago, Mark Halfhide of Coeur d’Alene was killed by his best friend in a hunting accident. Halfhide was not wearing orange.
