Tourney-Bound

Backup goalkeeper Shelby Phelps made eight saves Friday afternoon to help Post Falls to a 2-0 win at West Valley in Border League girls soccer.

Phelps replaced Ada Arnold, who collided with a striker and hurt her back during the first 10 minutes. Arnold’s injury wasn’t considered serious.

Katy Ridenour and Tawny Moore scored for the Trojans, who ended their regular season 7-9 overall and 4-6 in league. Post Falls will open the Division II regional tourney against Moscow.

WV is 5-8-1, 2-6.
