A Post Falls man was arrested after he allegedly threatened his former employer with a gun Friday night.

William R. Haines went to Joseph O’Masters’ home in the 700 block of E. 13th around 10:30 p.m., police said.

Police said Haines, 19, asked O’Masters for his paycheck. O’Masters told him the check would be sent to him, according to Post Falls police reports.

The two then started arguing and Haines pulled a 9 mm pistol from his jacket and pointed it at O’Masters, police said.

O’Masters wrestled the gun away from Haines and held him there until police arrived, reports said.

No one was injured.

Haines was arrested on charges of aggravated assault. He was still in Kootenai County Jail Monday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 bail.
