Idaho Ruby’S Bistro

Handle Extra reader Ron Mann of Coeur d’Alene wrote to tell us about one of his favorite local restaurants, Idaho Ruby’s:
“Are you looking for a friendly, open atmosphere with local art displayed on the walls and where seating is around tables in the old cafe style, very cozy and warm? A place where the coffee pot is on and the smell of breakfast or lunch is in the air? Then Idaho Ruby’s is your kind of place.
“Ruby’s bakes fresh daily its own muffins and bagels and the carrot cake is wonderful with coffee.
” For the light breakfast person, try the Eye-opener - one egg with ham or bacon and cheese on an English muffin or bagel. The hearty breakfast is two eggs, ham or bacon and two slices of cheese on Ruby’s thick-sliced toast.
“Lunch features gourmet sandwiches, salads and soups. Try the Gobbler or Santa Fe sub. For the real burger fan order the Big Bubba and Ruby’s fries.”
Idaho Ruby’s is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
