West Valley forward Tyler Hobbs stepped out and drilled four straight 3-point shots to lead the Eagles to a 65-44 non-league boys basketball win at Sandpoint.
The Eagles rolled over their former Border League rival, outscoring the Bulldogs 38-24 in the second half.
Hobbs finished with 18 points to lead West Valley, with post E.J. Richardson adding another 14.
Sandpoint got 10 points from Anthony Sorentino.
Timberlake 31, Clark Fork 22: Jarett Thompson tossed in 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to give Timberlake the home-court victory over the Wampus Cats. Ren Jones led the Tigers with 11 rebounds. … Mullan 70, Coeur d’Alene Charter 33: The Tigers more than doubled up the visiting Panthers in the first half and coasted to the victory. Cory Pehan had 30 of Mullan’s 70 points, hitting 12 of 20 shots from the field and adding 15 rebounds, five assists and three steals. … Lakeside-Plummer 83, Colton 49: The Knights pulled down more rebounds (54) than they allowed points in a win over the visiting Wildcats. Three players had double-digit rebounds. Arthur Elwell led the effort with 13 boards to go with 18 points, Keith Whipple had 10 points and 13 rebounds and Tim Wolfe added 10 rebounds. Mike Sifford tossed in 19 points to lead Lakeside. … Wallace 55, Kellogg 50: The Miners converted eight straight free throws to finish the game and hold off the visiting Wildcats. Craig Birdsong had 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Miners, and John Keener added another dozen points. … Bonners Ferry 56, Selkirk 47: The Badgers took control in the third period, outscoring the Rangers 20-10 in the non-league game at Bonners Ferry. Spenser Behrens’ 19 points led the Badgers, with Bryan Cossairt adding nine points and seven steals. Simon Ronniger added eight points and six rebounds. … University 82, Post Falls 53: Inderbir Gill scored 12 points on his way to a career-high 31 as the Titans ran away early from the visiting Trojans. The score was 23-8 after a quarter and things didn’t get better for the visitors. Calvin Jurich added 19 points and had 15 rebounds for a team that made 29 of 47 shots from the field. Scott Stockwell scored 18 points and Kyle Turpin 16 for Post Falls. … Mead 61, Lewis and Clark 50: Zack Nickols hit four 3-point baskets in the first half leading to 16 of his game-high 22 points as the visiting Panthers (2-1) defeated the Tigers (2-2). TJ Lee-Hill scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds for LC. … Mt. Spokane 52, Shadle Park 48 (OT): It took an extra period to accomplish it, but the Wildcats (1-2) got their first win in a back-and-forth game against the host Highlanders (0-4). Dan McKinnon was 4 for 4 as Mt. Spokane went 6 for 7 from the free-throw line in overtime. Matt Dorr scored 17 points and C.J. Barschig had 13.

Lake City’s Georgia Burke capped a fourth-quarter comeback by drilling a 3-point field goal with 40 seconds left, sparking the Timberwolves to a 50-47 Inland Empire League girls basketball win at Moscow Friday.
Burke finished with a game-high 15 points. Richelle Fenenbrock added 12, the final two coming on a pair of free throws that iced the victory.
Jacki Calhoun dominated the first three quarters for Moscow, finishing with a game-high 22 points. … Lewiston 44, Lakeland 40: The Bengals held off a fourth-quarter comeback from Lakeland to take the victory at Lewiston. The Hawks shot a frigid 23 percent from the field (15 of 64), but mounted a 15-8 run in the fourth quarter. Jessie Bartlet paced Lakeland with a dozen points; Krisi Packer did the same for Lewiston.

Bonners Ferry defended home court, downing Selkirk 38-31. The Badgers were led by the 17-point effort of Becky Lowther. Kelly Scherf had 10 points to lead the Rangers. … Kellogg JV 35, Mullan 34: Mullan’s rally at home fell just short. Bridgett Lund paced the junior Wildcats with 13 points. Anali Carrico had a game-high 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Tigers, with Fawn Story adding a dozen points and an equal number of rebounds.
