Heinz EZ Marinader simple, has great taste

Here’s an idea from Heinz for summertime cooking: The EZ Marinader.

It’s a marinating solution in a thick plastic bag. Simply unfold the bag, add two to three pounds of your favorite meat and in a half hour dinner’s ready for the grill. “No dishes, no fuss, no cleanup,” it says on the back of the package.

And The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel loved the taste.

Panel members gave the Jack Daniel’s Mesquite flavor a four-and-a-half star rating. Three panelists gave it five stars, the panel’s highest rating.

“A tangy, slightly sweet marinade that has a hint of hickory; Delicious,” said panel member Tina Johnson.

We marinated chicken breasts for the afternoon, sauteed the meat in a skillet and then served it in a Barbecue Chicken Wrap as suggested on the marinade packaging.

“Smells wonderful, Yum! Starts strong then mellows out. (It has a) very nice flavor. This is a nice way to dress up chicken, beef, fajitas,” said panel member Nancy Robinson.

The EZ Marinader was easy to overlook at the grocery store, tucked in between the steak and barbecue sauces. It comes in two flavors besides the smoky mesquite including, Yoshida’s Teriyaki and Classico Italian Garlic & Herb.

It was easy to transport, and the mess was minimal, and panel members like the idea of a ready-made marinade in a bag. They also rated it four-stars for value. But best of all, it tasted great, they said.
