Cardinals 5, Astros 3: At St. Louis, Scott Rolen snapped a fifth-inning tie with a two-run single, giving him a major league-leading 57 RBIs and sending St. Louis to a victory over Houston.

Pirates 2, Cubs 1: At Chicago, Mark Prior retired the first 13 batters and pitched six stellar innings for Chicago, but Pittsburgh rallied for two runs in the ninth and the win.

Phillies 9, Braves 1: At Atlanta, Bobby Abreu and Mike Lieberthal homered to back seven impressive innings by Eric Milton, and Philadelphia ended a four-game losing streak with a win over Atlanta.

Marlins 5, Mets 1: At New York, Hee Seop Choi hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, Miguel Cabrera had three hits and Florida ended a four-game losing streak by defeating New York.

Expos 4, Reds 2: At Cincinnati, Brad Wilkerson hit a solo homer and a tiebreaking, two-run shot in the seventh inning, rallying Montreal past Cincinnati.

Giants 13, Rockies 7: At Denver, Barry Bonds hit his 673rd home run and Jason Schmidt won his seventh straight decision, leading San Francisco over Colorado.

Dodgers 7, Diamondbacks 3: At Phoenix, Paul Lo Duca hit a three-run homer and Milton Bradley, playing while appealing a four-game suspension, drove in two runs to help Los Angeles win for the fifth time in six games in its victory over Arizona.

Brewers 3, Padres 1: At San Diego, Geoff Jenkins had two RBI doubles and Milwaukee found Petco Park’s quirkiness to its liking. The first four of the Brewers’ eight hits went for extra bases in the spacious downtown ballpark as Milwaukee beat San Diego.
