Ponderay forum to focus on antioxidants

SANDPOINT — The role of antioxidants in cancer therapy is the focus of a community forum in Ponderay Friday evening.

Community Cancer Services, of Sandpoint, is hosting the session on the interaction of antioxidants with chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Some believe the chemicals reduce the effectiveness of cancer therapy.

A variety of national and local experts will discuss the issue. Physician panelists include Dr. Tim Birdsall, director of naturopathic medicine at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois; Dr. Alan Grosset, oncologist at North Idaho Cancer Center in Sandpoint; Dr. Stephen Anthony, oncologist and director of research at Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane; and Dr. Bruce Cutter, president of Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane.

The free forum lasts from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Ponderay.
