Cygnus was named after a young swan, but he’s about as graceful as a bull moose. With hound dog ancestry, he keeps his nose glued to the ground 90 percent of the time. The other 10 percent he spends searching for a wrestling partner. Cygnus is a boy who needs a toy, preferably a durable one. While living at the shelter for the past eight months, there hasn’t been time to impress upon him the need to leave puppyhood behind and take up some gentler pastimes. Though it’s doubtful he’ll be crocheting doilies anytime soon, with some training he’d make one fabulous hunting partner. Cygnus is not recommended in a family with small children, but could be fine with other dogs. Bring yours in and see how they get along at Kootenai Humane Society 11650 N. Ramsey Road in Hayden Lake, or call 772-4019.
