Ten Commandments referendum denied
BOISE – Religious activists failed to convince a judge on Wednesday to allow voters to decide whether the city must put a new Ten Commandments monument in a park.
Fourth District Judge Ronald Wilper agreed with Boise officials that their decision to move the monument to a privately owned location in front of a church across from the Capitol was an administrative one that cannot be reversed by voter referendum.
An attorney for the Keep the Commandments Coalition promised an appeal to the state Supreme Court.
