Storm’s Jackson has ankle surgery
SEATTLE — WNBA scoring leader Lauren Jackson had arthroscopic surgery to repair a damaged ligament and remove bone spurs from her right ankle.
The Seattle Storm announced the surgery, which took place in her native Australia, in a news release Thursday. Jackson is recovering at her family’s home.
Jackson, the league Most Valuable Player in 2003, averaged a WNBA-best 20.5 points per game last season and helped the Storm to their first title. She also helped Australia to the silver medal at the Athens Olympics.
