Silver Tea will benefit low-income families

The ninth annual Silver Tea to benefit SPOC (Support for Parents Overcoming Challenges) will be at the Spokane Club, 1002 W. Riverside Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m.

In addition to tea and desserts, next Sunday’s event will include a lecture by Linda Loomis on the resiliency of children and their ability to overcome difficult situations , and entertainment by a Gonzaga University quartet.

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the door or by calling 444-0374.

SPOC is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance and training to local low-income families.

River Park Square concerts

Students and faculty members from Holy Names Music Center will give live performances Saturday, next Sunday and Nov. 13.

The free concerts will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the atrium at River Park Square.

Donations will be accepted for the center’s scholarship fund, which benefits music students needing tuition assistance.

Sacred Heart Women’s show

The Sacred Heart Women’s Health Center is offering a show for women at the Spokane Convention Center.

Speakers, presentations, entertainment and more than 150 exhibitors will offer a variety of products, services and information on women’s health, education, wellness and lifestyle Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and next Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Admission is $10, with proceeds benefiting hospital programs such as Heart-to-Heart cardiovascular risk assessment, osteoporosis screening, weight management support groups, exercise programs and education forums for women.
