Detroit lost its two All-Stars to right knee injuries. Shortstop Carlos Guillen sprained his knee while sliding awkwardly into third base in the fifth, and catcher Ivan Rodriguez left in the seventh with a bruised knee after being hit by a foul tip.

Devil Rays 8, Royals 6: At Kansas City, Mo., Tampa Bay stopped the second-longest losing streak in team history at 12 games, three shy of the team record, overcoming deficits of 4-2 and 6-5 to beat Kansas City.

Rangers 10, Blue Jays 7: At Arlington, Texas, David Dellucci hit a go-ahead RBI single with two outs in the eighth inning to lead Texas over Toronto. Francisco Cordero retired the side in order in the ninth and earned his 43rd save to match John Wetteland’s Rangers record for saves in a season, set in 1999.

White Sox 13, Angels 6: At Anaheim, Calif., Paul Konerko singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs – all during an eight-run second inning – and Chicago went on to a victory over Anaheim. Chicago’s Ross Gload had three hits, including a solo homer, and drove in four runs.
