Use your mesh strainer for a splatter guard

Splatter guards are invaluable for keeping wide skillets from burping their contents all over your stove top. But what about when you’ve just got a little pot of tomato sauce bubbling away? Try inverting a long-handled mesh strainer over the pot. It keeps the stove clean, and then pop the strainer into the dishwasher.
