Woman faces robbery count

Associated Press

BOISE – A Boise woman has been charged with attempted armed robbery after police and witnesses said she used a butcher knife to cut a cash register free from a fast food restaurant.

Darla Lafollette, 40, will be arraigned Monday.

Witnesses saw a woman enter Taco Bell in northwest Boise with a butcher knife and try to cut cords attaching the register to the counter Friday afternoon.

She grabbed an approaching employee by the collar and held the knife to the employee’s neck, police said.

Other workers tackled the woman and restrained her until Boise police officers arrived, Lt. Kent Lipple said.
