Hall, Ah-Hi guide CdA to victory

Jake Hall completed 13 of 19 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown Friday night as Coeur d’Alene opened its football season with a 21-14 non-league win over Flathead at Kalispell, Mont.

Kevin Ah-Hi rushed for 95 yards on 16 carries and provided the winning score, a 4-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Neal Goodwin added 31 yards on six carries, including a 14-yard TD run that gave CdA a 14-6 lead in the second quarter.

The Vikings finished with 160 rushing yards and 158 passing yards. Hall didn’t throw an interception, but CdA lost two fumbles.

In other non-league openers, Nate Dale had a pair of 25-yard TD runs to help Moscow to a 45-21 win at Priest River. The Bears’ Phil Helbling added a 36-yard interception return for TD and a 65-yard TD run. For the Spartans, Richie Morales had five receptions for 80 yards and one TD, and Heath Wardrop ran for 76 yards on 17 carries. … Heath Petersen rushed for 173 yards and two TDs on 26 carries and added a 70-yard TD reception as host Wallace scored 18 unanswered points in the second half to rally past St. Maries 25-20. … Sophomore Nick Puckett rushed for 140 yards and one TD on 19 carries to lead host Timberlake to a 28-18 win over Cardston (Alberta) at Spirit Lake. Another Tigers sophomore, Levi Powers, rushed for 67 yards and two TDs on eight carries and threw a 22-yard TD strike to Puckett.
