Field set for 4A regional tournament
The pairings are set for Tuesday’s first night of the Lamb Weston 4A Regional basketball tournament after the Big Nine Conference finished district play Saturday night.
Eisenhower’s boys edged Pasco, 38-37, for first and second, which means the Cadets (20-3) will host Shadle Park (10-13) at 7:30 p.m. at the Yakima Sundome. The Bulldogs (18-4) will entertain U-Hi (17-6) at 7:30 at Kamiakin High.
Davis (18-5) topped Richland, 74-71, to earn the third seed and will travel to University, where it will meet Gonzaga Prep (16-8) at 6 p.m. Richland (14-9), as the fourth seed, will meet Greater Spokane League top-seed Ferris (19-3), also at U-Hi, starting at 7:30.
On the girls side, Eisenhower (21-1) defeated Richland, 58-44, and will host Mt. Spokane (17-6) at the Sundome starting at 6. Richland (20-2) will meet Gonzaga Prep (18-5) at Pasco High at 7:30.
With Kennewick stopping Kamiakin, 61-42, the Lions (16-6) will face University (21-1) at Central Valley at 6 p.m., while Lewis and Clark, 21-1 and the top seed, will face Kamiakin (12-10) at 7:30.
The regional continues Friday with winners’ bracket games at Gonzaga University and girls losers’ bracket games at either U-Hi or CV, depending on the participants.
