Cody Nicholson (135 pounds) picked up a first-round pin over Danny Martinez as the North Idaho College wrestling team crushed visiting Pima 32-9 on Friday.

The Cardinals’ middleweight lineup picked up four consecutive wins to seal the victory. Justin Pearch (141), Derek Kipperberg (149) and Lee Morrison (157) all earned major decisions for NIC (13-1).

Junior hockey

Mike Senseman scored twice and Lief Sherman added a goal and an assist as the Spokane Braves posted a 3-2 win over host Castlegar in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. Evan Witt added two assists for the Braves (17-20-3-2).
