Oklahoma City wins NAIA baseball title

From news service reports

LEWISTON, Idaho – Colby Overstreet went 3-for-4, including a home run, to lead Oklahoma City to an 8-1 win over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the 49th annual Avista NAIA World Series championship game on Friday at Harris Field.

Mike Mlotkowski pitched eight innings and gave up just four hits and allowed a run.

Oklahoma City had placed second three straight years. Embry-Riddle’s previous best was third.

Host Lewis-Clark State College lost to Emery-Riddle 5-0 on Thursday and finished third.

This is the second straight year the tournament has been played on Lewis-Clark State’s home field and where the Warriors didn’t qualify for the title game. In the previous 12 years the Series was held in Lewiston, the Warriors made all 12 championship games, winning 10.
