Apria Healthcare drive to aid Second Harvest

Apria Healthcare’s Spokane office will celebrate its 10th anniversary by hosting a food drive to support the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Nonperishable food donations will be accepted through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Apria office, 411 E. North Foothills Drive, or in the bins for Second Harvest at the Yoke’s Fresh Market at 210 E. North Foothills Drive

Yoke’s also is offering special bags for purchase to make a donation.

Apria Healthcare provides home health care by providing respiratory therapy and home infusion therapy services and home medical equipment.

Brats for kids

The world’s largest touring grill, the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill, will make a stop in Spokane on Tuesday.

During the visit, volunteers will be grilling Johnsonville Brats from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rosauers supermarket at 1724 W. Francis Ave. to benefit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Participants who make a donation to the nursery will receive a brat with bun, condiments, chips, cookies and lemonade.

The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect by providing free emergency child care and support for families living in crisis.
