Walla Walla Spring Release Weekend

For those who are willing to travel a little further to taste Washington’s wine offerings, it is Spring Release Weekend in Walla Walla.

Wineries in and around this grape-growing region will be offering special hours and events Saturday. There are 48 wineries participating.

Warning: This is such a popular weekend in the Walla Walla area that hotel rooms are booked up to a year in advance. Many people stay in the Tri-Cities and Pendleton, Ore., according to the Chamber of Commerce. There are a few cancellations, so it might be worth calling if you’re looking for last-minute accommodations.

The Harbor Crest Retirement Community wants to introduce its chef.
