Lewiston woman killed in crash

Compiled from staff reports The Spokesman-Review

A woman was killed early Sunday when the car she was driving struck two parked vehicles in Lewiston Orchards, the Lewiston Police Department said in a news release.

The driver, 22-year-old Jill R. Presnell of Lewiston, was taken to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead with extensive head and chest injuries, police said.

Presnell was driving a Dodge Neon east on Warner Avenue in Lewiston Orchards when it went off the road on the south side of the 1300 block, police said. The vehicle struck cement blocks and mailboxes before hitting a parked GMC Jimmy and a parked Chevrolet pickup about 1:38 a.m.

The crash is under investigation by the Lewiston Major Collision Investigation Team and the Idaho State Police.

Anyone with any information on the crash is asked to call Lewiston police at (208) 746-0171.

Two injured when car goes off highway

A Spokane Valley woman was injured after the car she was driving went off State Route 27 about midnight Saturday, the Washington State Patrol said Sunday.

Wendy M. Presley, 39, was northbound on SR 27 when she entered a curve and crossed into the southbound lane before rolling 100 feet into a field. She was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital for treatment. Her condition was not available late Sunday.

Spokane Valley resident Mark J. McFrederick, 43, a passenger in the car, was not injured. Both the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts.

Speed and alcohol use were factors in the accident, WSP said in a news release.
