Hold all accountable
I’m writing about articles you’ve had in the paper regarding the Seattle Seahawks’ Ken Hamlin.
Now the question is, these days are athletes being treated unfairly in the court system (to their advantage)?
As I read, Hamlin was involved in a fight at a Seattle club in which he was reportedly the aggressor. After the fight he was transported to a local hospital and his so-called “opponent” was found dead an amazing three hours later. As portrayed in many sources of the media, Hamlin was looked at as the “victim.” When in our society have we looked at the aggressor as the victim? Shouldn’t we as a people be more worried about how a confrontation in a club ended up with a human being murdered in the streets?
Lately more than ever, have our athletes and entertainers side-stepped the justice system? When are they going to be held accountable for their actions? Are these not the same people who many children look up to as their heroes and role models?
