Wellpinit stuns S-H
Tiny Moses ended the game with a 70-yard touchdown on a wild play to give independent Wellpinit a wild 60-58 victory over visiting Sprague-Harrington in a non-league B-8 game Friday night.
With the Redskins (4-4) trailing by four points on the final play of the game, Jake Green threw to Jacob Marcellay, who pitched to Moses, who pitched to Geryl Andrews and eventually received the ball again on the fourth pitch and scampered into the end zone for Wellpinit’s first win over Sprague-Harrington in school history.
Leigh Talkington ran for five touchdowns and caught a sixth for the Falcons (6-2), who trailed 32-16 after one quarter.
In other non-league B-8 action, Bernard Payne ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns to lead Curlew to a 52-27 victory over host Mansfield (0-6). Dillon Strandberg ran for two first-half touchdowns for the Cougars (2-4). … Johnny Acevedo ran for two touchdowns and Kyle Bauder added a third to give Jubilee Academy (4-4) a 22-12 victory over Garfield-Palouse at Palouse. Saxon Wolf scored on the last play of the game for the Vikings (1-5).

The Greyhounds (8-0, 4-0), the second-ranked 2A team in the state, compiled 527 yards of total offense, led by quarterback J.T. Levenseller, who threw for 144 yards and ran for 64 on just three carries.
