Trevor Watkins has been hired as an agent at Century 21 Beutler and Associates. He previously worked as a college group leader and a community outreach director.

Christopher Clugston has been hired as a financial consultant at Wells Fargo Investments. He previously worked for Edward Jones and Associates and holds a law degree from the University of California King Hall School of Law.

Blue Water Technologies has hired Nick Bloxham as a field technician. He previously worked at Contractor’s Northwest.

Veronica Smet has been hired at Design Source as an administrative assistant. She has 20 years of experience in the service industry.

OMS Inc. has hired DeAnne Newlun as a job captain/project manager. She previously worked at Wolfe Architectural Group.

The orthodontic practice of Dr. Steven Gregg has hired Dr. Josh Johnson. He is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Dentistry and completed his residency at the University of Michigan.

Tom Watson has been hired as a sales associate in the Spokane Valley office of Windermere Real Estate. He previously worked as a sales associate at Tomlinson Black.

RBC Dain Rauscher has hired William Henry as first vice president, financial consultant in the company’s Spokane office.

PROMOTED

Sterling Savings Bank has promoted Bill Bancroft to vice president. He has been working at the bank for a year and a half.

Marc Schaffner has been promoted at Avista Utilities to operations manager in Coeur d’Alene. He has been with the company for 15 years.

AmericanWest Bank has promoted Larry Arnold to senior vice president/human resources director. He has been with the bank since 2002 and previously worked as vice president/human resources director.

Jeff Moe has been promoted to chief geologist at the Sunshine Mine division of Sterling Mine Co.

Parks Medical Corp. has promoted Stacey Blount to customer service/office manager.

KUDOS

Peggy Santos, owner of Center Target Sports, has recently been certified as an NRA “Refuse to be a Victim” instructor. She will offer the course on a quarterly basis.

Jim Brunner of Chipman Moving & Storage has received the United Van Lines’ Masters Club Award. He received this award for his exceptional sales achievements over the past year.

The Idaho Hospital Association has awarded B.J. Swanson the Trustee of the Year award for her contributions to improve hospital service. She is the board chair of Gritman Medical Center in Moscow.

The Holiday Inn Express in Spokane Valley has been awarded the InterContinental Hotels Group’s 2005 Priority Club Rewards Members’ Choice award. The award was given based on votes that were cast by the Priority Club Rewards members.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities has accredited Skils’kin for its Employment Planning Services.

The American Bus Association has named the Spokane Lilac Festival one of the Top 100 Events 06.

Community Colleges of Spokane have recently announced its participants in its fourth-annual Leadership Development Program. They are: Jo Anderson, Amy Balderas, Nina Beegle, Gary Blevins, Janet Breedlove, Kamori Cattadoris, Gwen Eltz, Kathie Forney, John Glomski, Sharon Hartman, Duane Hille, Douglas Jones, Bobby Lee, Bob Pebles Ruth Silverthorne, Lynn Stettler, George Suttle, Beverlee Witham, and Tamara Wittstruck.

Sacred Heart Medical Center has received the Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corp. The corporation surveyed 400,000 hospital consumers about 3,000 hospitals nationwide.

Nancy Casemore has been licensed to work at Wells Fargo Investments as an investment consultant. Casemore is a personal banker at the Hayden Lake Wells Fargo.

APPOINTED/ELECTED

Brittany Baeumel has been appointed to the Governor’s Council on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention in Idaho. She is the adolescent pregnancy prevention program manager and Peers Encouraging Abstinent Kids program coordinator at Panhandle Health District.

Al Williams has been appointed to service on the National Junior College Athletic Association Standing Committee for Women’s Division I Basketball. Williams is the athletics director at North Idaho College.

The Spokane chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals has elected its board of directors for 2005-2006. They are, Garry Borders, president; Wes Teterud, vice president; Joel White, secretary/treasurer; Colleen Stevens, immediate past president; David Demars, David Knecht, Barry Roach and Richard Tiffany.

GIFTS

Over 150 Comcast employees recently volunteered at YMCA Camp Reed. The volunteers painted, swept and cleaned over 24 cabins, trimmed plants and built a dock and diving platform. The project was part of the fifth-annual Comcast Cares Day.

AmericanWest Bank has donated $16,000 to Washington and Idaho Future Farmers of America and 4-H Clubs to support educational programs for youth involved in farming or livestock projects.

84 Lumber will open its new store in Post Falls on Tuesday. The building materials supplier will open at 6335 W. Integrity Way.
