North quartet All-Idaho
Four North Idaho high school basketball players were named to All-Idaho (all-state) teams.
Senior Bo Gregg of Lewiston, a senior, was named to the 5A boys team; seniors Kayla Stiegemeier of Lakeland and Kelsey Taylor of Moscow were named to the 4A girls All-Idaho team; and junior Lisa Carver of Wallace was named to the 1A girls team.
Eight others were named to second teams.
They are Andrew Packwood of Lewiston, Cody Line of Moscow, Matt Rice of Bonners Ferry, Lindsay Stark and Kama Griffitts of Coeur d’Alene, Becky Lowther of Bonners Ferry, Marisa Bush of Kellogg and Cara Hayman of Wallace.
The teams were voted on by coaches statewide and announced by The Idaho Statesman newspaper in Boise.
Players of the year in each division were: Brady Jardine, Twin Falls, 5A boys; Blake Reynolds, Centennial, 5A girls; Louie Beech, Skyview, 4A boys; Whitney Owen, Vallivue, 4A girls; Camron Hammond, South Fremont, 3A boys; Whitney Thompson, Shelley, 3A girls; Shae Neal, Malad, 2A boys; Kati Isham, Butte County, 2A girls; Jay Leighton, Lapwai, 1A boys; and Layne Tucker, Garden Valley, 1A girls.
Parade honors Bjorklund
University junior Angie Bjorklund has been named a Parade magazine high school basketball All-American for the second consecutive year.
The 6-foot guard who has committed to attend the University of Tennessee was one of 10 members on the magazine’s second team after earning third-team honors last season.
