Hargrove no motivator
The absence of Mike Hargrove’s name in John Blanchette’s opening-day comments on the 2006 Mariners spoke volumes. To me, Hargrove’s name is synonymous with banality and the blahs. He is not a motivator.
Sparky Anderson once said a manager can make a difference in at least 20 games a year. When the Mariners lost the best psychologist, Lou Piniella, the impact was felt. I feel the Mariners could do better with a positive change in the skipper department.
