Kaiser, Boeing extend pact

The Spokesman-Review

Kaiser Aluminum announced Wednesday that it has signed a new long-term contract with Chicago-based Boeing Co. to supply the airplane manufacturer with sheet and light-gauge aluminum plate.

The new contract extends an existing agreement, Kaiser said. Terms of the contract, including its dollar value, were not announced.

Kaiser said in a press release that “the contract with Boeing is enabled by a previously announced $105 million expansion at Kaiser Aluminum’s Trentwood Rolling Mill” in Spokane Valley.

Kaiser and Boeing also have a multiyear agreement for heavy-gauge aluminum plate, signed earlier this year.

J. Jill to open downtown store

J. Jill, a national retailer that sells clothing and accessories to women 35-and-over, will open a store at River Park Square, the downtown Spokane shopping center confirmed Wednesday.

A J. Jill spokeswoman said a month ago that the Quincy, Mass.-based chain would open a store here, but River Park Square management declined to confirm it at that time, saying a lease hadn’t been signed.

J. Jill, which has 201 stores nationwide, will open this fall in about 4,600 square feet of space on the mall’s ground floor.

River Park Square also announced that Quick Frames, a locally owned frame shop, has opened in 1,700 square feet of space across from Abercrombie & Fitch.

The downtown mall is owned by Cowles Co., which also publishes The Spokesman-Review.
