Big Sky notes

The Spokesman-Review

It’s unwise to put too much weight in a team’s non-conference schedule, but Portland State may have emerged as the team to beat in the Big Sky with a 9-4 mark entering conference play. The Vikings have won eight of their last 10 games, the only losses during that stretch to nationally ranked Oregon and Washington. … The snowstorm that blew through Denver and made life miserable for thousands of airline passengers also resulted in the postponement of Northern Colorado’s game against Air Force last Saturday. The Bears had trouble flying home from Detroit, so several of the players and the coaching staff flew to Kansas City, Mo., rode a bus back to Greeley, Colo. – a 650-mile trip – and arrived home on Christmas Eve.
