Class 2A
Great Northern League: Jochelle Schatz scored seven of her 19 points in the decisive third quarter and hit all six of her free throws to lead Chewelah past Riverside 46-32 at Riverside on Tuesday. Brooke Schanzenbach added eight points for the Cougars (12-6, 6-4), who outshot Riverside 11-2 from the free-throw line. Shae Spicer led the Rams (7-10, 3-6) with eight points, and Tamara Hall collected seven rebounds and four assists.
Class 1A
Caribou Trail League: Rowena St. Pierre and Jessica Loe each scored 18, and Lake Roosevelt cruised past host Oroville 78-18. Lachelle Ives added 14 points, and the Raiders did not allow a double-digit scorer for Oroville.
Class B
Bi-County League: Jessica Mangis hit a free throw with 2.5 seconds left to send the game into overtime, and Liberty edged host Northwest Christian 45-42. Cami Bullock paced the Lancers (16-3, 15-3) with 12 points. Krystal Pitkonen led three Crusaders (10-10, 9-9) in double figures with 12 points, and Hannah Winters and Kyla Schmidt added 11 points apiece. Liberty finished the regular season with the Bi-Co’s second seed. … Sprague-Harrington got 18 points from Maria Rustemeyer and 15 from Jamie Larmer in a 64-33 rout of host Valley Christian. Roni Jo Mielke added 11 points for the Falcons (20-0, 18-0), who remained unbeaten and claimed the league’s top seed. S-H will host Odessa on Friday. Kassey Miller notched 13 points to lead the Panthers (1-19, 1-17) in their final game of the season. … Odessa jumped to a 9-2 lead early in the first quarter, but Reardan outscored the Tigers 32-11 in the rest of the first half and rolled to a 56-37 win at Reardan. Jen Christerson scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half and totaled 10 steals for the Indians (9-11, 8-10), and Brook Ferderer notched 19 points and five steals. Andrea Kuck had 12 points, and Jennie Harp added 11 for Odessa (8-12, 6-12). … Kaylee Sempirmoznik scored 19 points to lead Davenport past Wilbur-Creston 45-32 at Davenport. Stephanie Morrison notched four points and 11 rebounds for the third-place Gorillas (14-6, 12-6). Maddison Peterson had 12 points, and Zenda Reidt added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats (10-10, 9-9). … Andrea Edwards hit a game-winning field goal with 5 seconds left to lift Almira/Coulee-Hartline past Lind-Ritzville 44-43 at Hartline. Edwards scored 11 and grabbed nine rebounds for the Warriors (4-15, 4-14), who got 10 points apiece from Dani Butler and Timi Winfrey. Laura Cain topped the Broncos (8-12, 8-10) with 11 points. The win was ACH’s final game of the season.
Idaho Class 5A
Region 1 playoffs: Coeur d’Alene advanced to the State 5A tournament with a 70-43 win over Lake City to capture its second straight 5A Region 1 championship. The Vikings (16-5) used a 10-0 run midway through the second quarter to put the game away early. Coeur d’Alene got 15 points each from Jenna DeLong and Deanna Dotts. Riki Moreland and Katy Baker chipped in 13 points apiece for the Timberwolves (11-12).
