Seattle secured a first-round playoff bye and set a franchise record with its 10th straight win – that streak would eventually grow to 11 – but it wasn’t easy. The Seahawks led 14-0 midway through the first and it appeared the rout was on.

By late in the third, Tennessee had rattled of 24 unanswered points before Seattle finally answered on a Matt Hasselbeck TD pass. Still, Seattle trailed 24-21 when Tennessee drove to Seattle’s 6 where it faced fourth-and-1. Chris Brown was stuffed by Michael Boulware, Grant Wistrom and Leroy Hill for a 1-yard loss.

Hasselbeck directed a 93-yard scoring drive, capped by a 2-yard TD pass to Darrell Jackson on third-and-goal.

Seattle’s defense held and Hasselbeck and Co. picked up three first downs to take the final 5 minutes off the clock. The 28-24 victory was the Seahawks’ 12th win of the season, equaling the franchise record. They broke it the next week with a win over Indianapolis.
