Summer Concert Series – featuring Don Kush on acoustic guitar, 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Coeur d’Alene Park, Second and Chestnut in Browne’s Addition. Concertgoers may bring a blanket and picnic; no alcohol will be allowed. The free concerts will continue each Thursday through August; (509) 747-2853.

Hillyard Hi-Jinks – The annual festival and parade will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 4 in Harmon-Sharpley Park at Market and Bismark, continues through Aug. 6; will include vendors, bingo, carnival games, entertainment and beer garden; (509) 489-1122.

Spokane Highland Games – The annual Celtic festival will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds, Broadway and Havana; will include competitions, entertainment, vendors, historical demonstrations and activities for children.
