Kayak classes open to public

Kayakers of all ability levels are encouraged to take part in a series of sea kayak clinics offered by North Idaho College’s Outdoor Pursuits.

The clinics will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through July 6, meeting on the NIC beach.

The clinics will teach participants the basics of kayaking, including paddle strokes, water currents and safety tips. Those who complete the clinics will have the basic skills required to operate a kayak. Participants also will explore scenic, secluded areas of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
