Willis’ 27 helps Bruins snap Sun Devils’ winning streak

Noelle Quinn sank two free throws with 28.9 seconds left before Arizona State turned the ball over on its final chance, and UCLA shocked the 11th-ranked Sun Devils 60-59 on Sunday in San Jose, Calif., to reach the Pac-10 tournament championship game.

Lisa Willis scored 20 of her 27 points in the second half and Quinn finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks for the Bruins, who snapped Arizona State’s school-record 10-game winning streak.

(13) Stanford 73, USC 44: At San Jose, Calif., Brooke Smith had 15 points and eight rebounds, and the advanced to the championship game of the Pac-10 tournament with a victory over the Women of Troy.

(1) North Carolina 91, (4) Maryland 80: At Greensboro, N.C., Erlana Larkins scored a career-high 26 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels past fourth-ranked Maryland, giving the program its second straight ACC tournament title and likely locking up a No. 1 seed for the NCAA tournament.

(6) Rutgers 60, Villanova 37: At Hartford, Conn., Cappie Pondexter scored 20 of her 24 points in the second half to lead the Scarlet Knights over the Wildcats in the Big East Conference quarterfinals.

(7) Connecticut 71, Notre Dame 60: At Hartford, Conn., Barbara Turner scored 19 points and Ketia Swanier added a career-high 11 to lead the Huskies to a win over the Irish in a Big East tournament quarterfinal.

(14) Purdue 67, Indiana 41: At Indianapolis, Aya Traore scored 11 points and Katie Gearlds added 10 to lead the Boilermakers past the Hoosiers in the Big Ten tournament semifinals.

(15) DePaul 69, Pittsburgh 46: At Hartford, Conn., Caprice Smith scored 17 points and Khara Smith added 16 to lead the Blue Demons over the Panthers in a Big East Conference tournament quarterfinal.

(22) Temple 76, Duquesne 63: At Philadephia, Candice Dupree tied her career-high with 31 points, helping the Owls advance to the Atlantic 10 tournament championship game.
