Ann Strother scored 20 points to lead No. 9 Connecticut (29-4) to a 50-44 win Tuesday night over West Virginia (15-16) in the Big East Conference championship in Hartford, Conn., and an automatic berth in the NCAA tourney.

Sun Belt Conference final: Chrissy Givens had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead Middle Tennessee (20-10) to its third straight NCAA tournament berth with an 87-43 victory over Western Kentucky (24-6) in Murfreesboro, Tenn. … Mid-Continent Conference final: Anne Hafeli totaled 25 points as Oakland (Mich.) (15-15) upset top-seeded Western Illinois (23-6) 65-56 in Tulsa, Okla., to advance to the NCAA tournament.

Boo Davis scored 18 points to help Wisconsin-Milwaukee (21-8) beat Butler (19-12) 87-71 in Milwaukee, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with the Horizon League title.
