Candidate for Congress to make stops

Democratic congressional candidate Larry Grant, of Fruitland, is making a series of campaign stops in Coeur d’Alene, Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint this week.

Grant is one of 11 candidates vying for the open seat of U.S. Rep. Butch Otter, R-Idaho, who is running for governor. The 1st Congressional District includes the western half of Idaho from the Canadian border to Nevada.

Today, Grant, a former vice president and general counsel for Micron Technology, will be at a house party in Coeur d’Alene hosted by Denny and Kathy Canfield Davis and Mary Lou and Scott Reed. For more information, contact Kathy Canfield Davis at kcdd@adelphia.com.

Bonner County Democrats are having a 2006 kickoff dinner and fundraiser on Friday. Grant is scheduled to attend along with other Democrats, including Dan Romero, a candidate for lieutenant governor.

Other candidates include state legislative District 1 hopefuls Bob Wynhausen, Steve Elgar and Jim Ramsey, and District 2 legislative candidates Rand Lewis and Steve Johnson. Bonner County commission candidate Todd Crossett also is scheduled to attend, along with incumbent County Clerk Marie Scott and incumbent County Assessor Judie Conlan.
