“The Best 30-Minute Recipe”

The folks at Cook’s Illustrated magazine and the “America’s Test Kitchen” TV show are known for wonderful, impeccably tested recipes. But they’re also known for creating dishes that are a tad fussy, with lots of steps, lots of ingredients and plenty of pots and pans.

The latest entry in the cookbook series aims to change that, though, by offering up some 300 dishes – skillet meals, quick stews, pan-seared meats – that can be whipped up on a busy weeknight. Most recipes come with time-saving tips to “make the minutes count” and also expanded steps if you do (on that rare occasion) find yourself with a little extra time.

Look inside today’s food section for the recipe for Chicken Curry with Potatoes and Cauliflower from the book.
