Injury report
Clemson linebacker Anthony Waters will miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his left knee.
He tore the anterior cruciate ligament late in the third quarter of Clemson’s 54-6 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
The injury could mean the end of his college career.
“You hate to see that for Anthony, seeing all the hard work that he’s put in,” coach Tommy Bowden said Sunday.
Waters had considered skipping his senior season for the NFL, but chose to return to help the 18th-ranked Tigers make a run at the Atlantic Coast Conference title. Now, he will spend his final Clemson season rehabbing his knee for a chance at the pros.
“Wake Forest quarterback Ben Mauk may not return this season after breaking his right arm and dislocating his right shoulder in a win over Syracuse.
