Moon’s No. 1 with Titans
When Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon decided on jersey No. 1, it was because he wanted to make a statement.
“I got that number way back in college,” said Moon, the former University of Washington quarterback. “It was a number that I chose, a number I thought signified where I wanted my team to always finish.”
At halftime on Sunday, the Tennessee Titans will induct Moon into the Oilers/Titans Hall of Fame and retire his number.
Moon, who played 10 seasons for the Houston Oilers, will become just the sixth player in the history of the franchise to have his number retired.

Ichiro says center field OK
Ichiro Suzuki is willing to play center field for the Seattle Mariners next year.
“He said he wants to play there, so that’s good,” said manager Mike Hargrove, who met earlier this week with the six-time All-Star. Ichiro played 120 games in right field this season.
Ichiro started his 36th game in center field on Friday night. The experiment of moving him there began on Aug. 20 and he became a fixture in a position where seven players have started this season.
“Every indication he’s given me is he enjoys playing center field,” Hargrove said.
