Grammar usage poor
I am a retired coach, classroom teacher and administrator who still does free tutoring. I am appalled at the fact that young people look up to athletes, coaches and sports writers who feel they must butcher grammar.
I am talking about language and grammar that fifth- and sixth-grade students were required to know and use in my classroom.
The quotes from a very large percentage of players and coaches could be cleaned up if some athletic directors or administrators would speak up. Also, the fact that many coaches and players use foul language that young people see and mimic is reprehensible.
The term “working their b—-s off” is really not appropriate, in reality, as a lot of the people involved have more than ample body flesh to sit on.
