NIC presenting dinner theater

The Spokesman-Review

North Idaho College Theatre Arts will present a dinner theater production of Bernard Slade’s popular romantic comedy “Same Time, Next Year” April 19, 20 and 21 in the Edminster Student Union Building’s Lake Coeur d’Alene Room.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the play beginning at 7:30.

Tickets, available through the NIC box office at 769-7780, cost $25 for dinner and the show. All tickets must be purchased by 4 p.m. on the day of the show; no ticket sales will be made at the door.

The play is recommended for mature audiences because of adult language and themes.

“Same Time, Next Year” has been successful as a Broadway play and a film. The plot follows an unusual love affair between George and Doris, who meet once a year for 25 years.

Set against the backdrop of the changes in American life between the 1950s and 1970s, George’s and Doris’ warm and humorous journey mirrors moments from our own lives. In many ways, this is the story of two people growing up and discovering their true selves.

Come join us and share in the laughter and maybe a few tears.

George and Doris will be played by NIC student Cameron Dwyer and former NIC student Julianne Edwards. The show is being directed by NIC theater director Joe Jacoby.

The menu includes Half Moon Bay salad, Sausalito sirloin steak (with a vegetarian option of portabella mushrooms), dessert and beverages.

For more information, call Jacoby at 769-3220.
