Indians rally to beat Emeralds
EUGENE, Ore. – Mitchell Moreland’s RBI single in the eighth inning helped visiting Spokane rally from a five-run deficit to beat Eugene, 12-9, on Sunday.
Moreland, who delivered a two-run single in the seventh, ripped the decisive hit off Emeralds reliever Jackson Quezada with two outs in the eighth to score Renny Osuna. Timothy Rodriguez provided insurance with a two-run double in the ninth.
Steven Marquardt went 3 for 4 with a run-scoring single in the seventh and two RBIs. Jonathan Greene clubbed a solo homer, his ninth, while Luke Salas, Ian Gac and Victor Barrios had an RBI apiece.
The Indians (24-28) opened a two-game lead over Boise in the Northwest League’s East Division.
