Where in the world is that rec site?

We’ll send a $5 Starbucks card to the first reader who correctly answers this week’s .TXT Video Challenge. Can you nail the exact location of the “mystery recreation site?”

YouTube features a kooky 10-minute video road-trip parody called “New Heights Camp Coeur d’Alene Road Trip 1.” It’s at: www.youtube.com/ watch?v=KxKmjykjoEU. (Not to be confused with part two, nor with the video of “Road Trip 1, Deleted Scenes.”)

The folks who made these videos are affiliated with a Western Washington church group. They seemed to have a great time shooting film as they traveled east, picking up two friends in Spokane before finally heading to Camp Coeur d’Alene.

It’s zany, G-rated and loaded with silly shtick, which makes it perfect for a quick 10-minute video escape. A nice little music coda was added, with a nod to The Beatles’ “Help” as its inspiration.

On the way, the group films two guys in costume at a well-known regional recreation site. The first reader to identify the city or town where that site is located gets the gift card. Send your guess to txt@spokesman.com.
