Freeman kept its perfect season intact with a 65-36 victory over Tonasket in the championship game of the Freeman Christmas Tournament on Friday.
Darby Moberg scored 13 points, Morghan Poirier tossed in 12 and MacKenzie Taylor added eight points and 13 rebounds to lead the Scotties (10-0).
Also at the tournament, Bonners Ferry took third place with a 65-55 victory over Liberty. Ashley Winkelseth scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Badgers (6-4). Heather Kjack led the Lancers (4-6) with 13 points.
“Carli Rosenthal scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Kama Griffitts added 16 points and 10 boards as Coeur d’Alene defeated Leboldus (Regina, Saskatchewan) 88-24 at the Gillette (Wyo.) Classic. The Vikings (12-1) advance to play Rock Springs today.
“Post Falls whipped Shadow Ridge 71-47 and then defeated Basic 54-34 at the Lady Wolves Tournament in Las Vegas. The Trojans (9-2) advance to play Bonanza today in the championship game.
“Kyle Miller scored 26 points and Cheney used a big second-half effort to beat Foster 56-51 at the Blackhawk Tournament in Cheney. The Blackhawks (3-3) outscored Foster 30-19 in the second half to erase a six-point halftime deficit. … Also at the tournament, Bellevue defeated Sandpoint 55-45. The Bulldogs (3-7) will play Foster today for third place.
“Columbia (Burbank) defeated Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 35-30 at the SunDome Shootout in Yakima. Leslie Stillar scored 10 points to lead the Eagles (6-3), who will play Naches Valley today. … East Valley (Yakima) topped Colfax 41-36. The Bulldogs (6-2) will play Woodland today.
“Soap Lake defeated Davenport 50-40 at the Davenport Tournament. Mariah Mielke scored a team-high 14 points for the Gorillas (3-5). … In another tournament game, Ashley Nygreen scored 21 points as Colton beat Columbia (Hunters) 72-23. The Wildcats advance to play Soap Lake today for the Championship. Columbia and Davenport will play for third place.
“Alyssa FitzGerald and Kelly Van Lith scored 14 points apiece to guide St. John-Endicott (4-5) to a 52-36 victory over Reardan at the Reardan Tournament. Ashtin Jeney led the Indians (5-3) with 15 points. … Also at the tournament, Shelby LeBret scored a game-high 20 points as Chewelah (3-5) beat Wellpinit (1-8) 79-37. Chewelah advances to play St. John-Endicott tonight at 6 for the championship while Wellpinit and Reardan play at 3.
“Katelyn Maley scored 14 points and Samantha Wilson and Alyssa Gibbar added 10 apiece as Rosalia (8-1) defeated St. Michael’s 65-43 at the Rosalia Tournament. Katie Urann led the Warriors (1-8) with 20 points. … Also at the tournament, Holly Howard scored 17 points and Sarah Taulaki added 15 as Springdale (7-3) defeated Kootenai (3-6) 68-22. The Chargers advance to play Rosalia today for the title while Kootenai and St. Michael’s will play for third place.
